Baked Macaroni + Cheese (a classic)
1 16 oz bag/box of pasta (macaroni, shells, farfalle, your favorite pic)
1 stick of butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups whole milk
12 oz shredded cheddar
8 oz mascarpone cheese
Preheat oven to 350F.
Cook pasta as instructed on bag/box. Set aside.
Melt butter in a medium sauce pot over medium heat. Once melted, add flour and whisk one minute.
Whisk in milk to butter + flour mixture until smooth. Continue to stir until contents start to bubble.
Lower heat to low and stir in cheddar cheese + mascarpone.
Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
Place all contents into a 9x13 casserole.
Bake in preheated oven 15-20 minutes, or until top is brown + crispy.
