Baked Macaroni + Cheese (a classic)


  • 1 16 oz bag/box of pasta (macaroni, shells, farfalle, your favorite pic)

  • 1 stick of butter

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 3 cups whole milk

  • 12 oz shredded cheddar

  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.

  2. Cook pasta as instructed on bag/box. Set aside.

  3. Melt butter in a medium sauce pot over medium heat. Once melted, add flour and whisk one minute.

  4. Whisk in milk to butter + flour mixture until smooth. Continue to stir until contents start to bubble.

  5. Lower heat to low and stir in cheddar cheese + mascarpone.

  6. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.

  7. Place all contents into a 9x13 casserole.

  8. Bake in preheated oven 15-20 minutes, or until top is brown + crispy.
