  • 1/2 cup ketchup

  • 1 Tablespoon dark brown sugar

  • 2 Tablespoons red wine vinegar

  • 2 Tablespoons molasses

  • 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon celery seed

  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients over medium heat until mixture begins to simmer.

  2. Reduce heat to low and continue to cook 15 minutes. For a thicker sauce, simmer for an additional 10 minutes, occasionally stirring.

  3. Let cool and store in an airtight container in refrigerator until needed.
